“Dirty Debt—Dealing with Real Estate Issues Inside and Outside of Bankruptcy”
In these troubled economic times, the real estate collapse affects a multitude of practice areas, with bankruptcy being in the forefront. This year’s Bankruptcy Institute addresses a range of real estate related topics—from relief for small businesses and consumers to dealing with subprime service providers. A panel featuring Douglas Duncan, Vice President and Chief Economist for Fannie Mae, Professor Tim Duy, University of Oregon, and Professor Katherine Porter, University of Iowa College of Law, addresses “Mortgage Mysteries and Mishaps.” Traditional topics are covered, too: ethics with the Honorable Cecelia G. Morris, Southern District of New York, and a lunch presentation by the Honorable Dennis Montali, Northern District of California, “Ninth Circuit BAP Appeals.”
